peace is power

i am no expert, but the Lord has revealed to me that peace is power. i know life is going to get more stressful as i get older, but God is teaching me things young. and i want to remember them – and i want you to be encouraged by it, too.

if i am to say so myself, life can be hectic and we get to a point where we don’t know how to handle it. we either break down, lose patience, get angry, crawl in a hole, or we run away. when we do that – we will still run into the problem. whatever you are facing is still going to be there when you get out of the hole, or return after running so far.

you have to choose peace over problems. you have to declare peace over panicking. peace is ” fulfillment, wholeness, harmony, security and well being”. peace is not a place where there is no noise and trouble. peace is where you are in the midst of it all, but your heart is calm, and your mind is at peace.

think of the story of Jesus walking on water. there are so many lessons we can learn through this story – but just for a second.. close your eyes and picture. picture you are Peter, on the boat. and you start seeing Jesus walking on the water – while a storm is taking over. but keep those eyes set on Jesus. watching Him, so gentle, just walk towards you, holding His hand out to you, and telling you, “don’t be afraid. i am here” (john 6:20).

now that you have pictured that – i want you to remember that. no matter what the heck is going on, the feelings and emotions you are feeling, the confusion and betrayal happening, the tears and screams occurring, or the fears and worries taking over you. i want you to know that Jesus is here. through a crazy storm, He was calling a disciple to walk. walk while the waves were high, the thunder was loud, and the storm was huge. Peter was scared, actually frightened. and we are too. we don’t want to give up our control, we don’t want to fall down even harder, we don’t want to drown. but yet we want help.

peace is power

so do it. walk (maybe even run!) during the storm, but towards Him, watching Him, focusing on Him. and this is when the peace comes. this is the peace that comes when we give the storm to God and seek His face even deeper. as you continue to walk towards Him, you start to get closer. you see who He is, and what He has to offer. you grab onto His hand, and you walk together – peacefully – through life and all that comes with it.

God didn’t send His son for us to fear or to get so stressed out. Jesus declared peace over us, for He has overcame the world. it is our human nature to worry and allow things to stress us out. but we have to know our limitations and where to draw the line. God didn’t promise an easy life – but He promised peace. It is up to us to take that peace and live with it. We should stop praying for our circumstances to change, and start praying for the power and peace to overcome what we’re going through.

Jesus loves you so much, and He cares for you – and that is why He is giving us the opportunity to live in peace with Him.

choose peace over problems, peace over panicking, and know that peace is power.

Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger

It is never about Jesus if it’s always about us.

I pray that The Lord may speak to you through me, I can only hope I can help you in your relationship with Christ.
