called out.

i have always been the “left out” one. that one in middle school, high school, cheerleading, family events, and even church. i was the one who would be at the football games in the corner, not with my school jumping on the bleachers. i was the one sitting in a classroom alone at lunch, not in the cafeteria. i was the one who would get bullied. i was the one who went to school, didn’t talk to anyone, and went home. i was the one who didn’t have a friend group. i was the one. and at the same, it hurt like nothing else, feeling less than and not wanted. but now looking back, those were small issues that shaped me into who i am today.

the point of me telling you all of that is to not feel bad for me or get sympathy. it’s actually quite the opposite. i told you that because i was once looking towards the world to fulfill and satisfy my longing soul. i once thought fitting in was the most important thing. i once found my worth in what others thought. i laugh now, sometimes, because i still deal with it.

BUT!!!!!!!!! i have been reminded of a verse that stirred up so many thoughts, prayers, and praises. 1 John 3:1 states, “What marvelous love the father has extended to us! Just look at it – we’re called children of God. That’s who we really are. But that’s also why the world doesn’t recognize us or take us seriously, because it has no idea who He is or what He’s up to”.

it’s not just “love” that the Lord extends to us, but a MARVELOUS love. an astounding, spectacular, sensational, magnificent type of love. the love that it is too deep, too high, and too wide for us to understand. the love that we cannot receive or feel from the world, but the love that fulfills our soul like nothing else. the love that the “world love” cannot compare to.

“we are called children of God, that’s who we really are”.. you are not what the world tells you are. you are not what you think you are. you are what God calls you and that is a child of Him. that is who you, my friend, REALLY are.

“but that’s why the world doesn’t recognized us or take us seriously, because it has no idea who He is or what He’s up to”… DING DING. here is why we are left out, here is why we are set apart, here is why we are different, here is why we don’t fit in. we don’t fit in because we are simply not supposed to!! we are not called children of this world for a reason, but a child of Him. we are not receiving love by the world, but love that comes from the Father. if we’re seeking the world for acceptance, then we’re not accepting the God who created it. for we cannot serve two masters (matt 6:24). this world doesn’t know Him or what He’s up to, they are lost, they are the sheep that need guidance, the sheep who wander. we are called to witness to them, love on them, and pray for them. show this world what this “God” thing is about. show this world how our God changes lives. show the world what is really important. LET GOD SHOW UP AND SHOW OFF, through you.

so here is what my main point of this blog post is… you are meant to be left out. this is for a good reason, a good purpose, a good plan, and for a GOOD GOD! when we get consumed by this world, we get transformed by it, and it we lose sight of what truly matters. don’t get discouraged when you aren’t “wanted”, when you are “left out”, or if you get called names for your faith. it’s gonna hurt, i’ve been there & done that, too many times, but you are worth more. repeat it after me – I AM WORTH MORE THAN WHAT THIS WORLD IS TELLING ME I AM. you’re going to be different because you live different, think different, act different, love different, and are different. we are not of this world, but from a God who is so full of marvelous love that He is WAITING to give you.

find joy in Him, find your worth in Him, find acceptance in Him, find love in Him, find Him.

Xo,

B. ❤
