I was in Middle School and my sister was in High School. She always left earlier than me considering school started earlier for her. Every morning, I would go into her room and use her makeup, and take her clothes. I even took a sweatshirt to school to put OVER her clothes so when I got home, she wouldn’t see I was wearing her clothes. I then would hide whatever clothes I had of hers into my closet, in the way WAY back so she couldn’t see them. Of course the next day or two, she would be looking for that shirt/pants and would come confront me about stealing her clothes. I lied. I always acted stupid saying “what are you talking about? I haven’t even been in your room!” Eventually it would get to my parents, yet I still wouldn’t admit I went in her room and stole her clothes and used her makeup. (It came to the point she put a dead bolt on her door so I couldn’t get in there.)
Two things happened there; lying and stealing. At the time, I didn’t really think anything of it. I didn’t think “oh gosh this is a sin! I can’t keep doing this!” But I literally had my lies planned out. I knew I was going to be lying and sneaking, so I took extra clothes to school! I had excuses in my head so I’d be prepared what to say. We often do this sometimes as sinners.
Sinning, something we all hesitate to talk about. Stealing, adultery, gossip, pride, lust, lying. It is a barrier between you and your Heavenly Father. However, I have great news !!! Someone very, VERY, v e r y special died for your sins. Romans 4:25 states “He was handed over to die because of our sins, and He was raised to life to make us right with God.”
We will ALL sin. Sometimes, we’ll sin without actually realizing we are. On the other hand, we know we are sinning and plan it out.
“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of Gods glorious standard. Yet, God with undeserved kindness, declared that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.” Romans 3:23-24
I get choked up reading that verse. The fact that the Lord knows that we will always fall short, He is still calling us righteous. We are still free. Our chains our broken. 1 John 1:9 states, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” We are to ask for forgiveness for our sins so we take the responsibility of them, versus blaming it on others. Did you know even before you were thought about, The Lord knew you were going to made in His image and thought that you were SO special and loved that He was willing to give up His son for you and your sins that you will continue to do? We don’t deserve that. We didn’t deserve that. But His blood said otherwise.
Dear Ones, keep your eyes on the Lord. Satan will plant lies in your head and talk you into sinning. Satan will destroy you, talking you into doing something wrong. Set your eyes on the only place that matters, Jesus Christ. Ask for strength, pray for help, thank for Jesus. Don’t entertain your fleshly desires. When you live in YOUR kingdom, you’re also living SATANS kingdom. Stay focused on Jesus. Stay focused.
Remember, nobody is perfect; never will be, no matter how great your Instagram newsfeed looks or how happy you always are. You are righteous in Gods image, not perfect. God looks down at you and smiles, because He loves you.
“God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for He himself is fair and just, and he declares sinners to be right in his sight when they believe in Jesus.” Romans 3:26
I stared this blog in about January of 2016 to share His Word in a creative way. I was praying one night, and it kind of just came onto my heart.
I pray that The Lord may speak to you through me, I can only hope I can help you in your relationship with Christ.
