four things to remember

Another year down that we can put in our books. As we come upon this New Year, it can be a time for change. If you want me to be honest, the day we start the “new year” is the same thing as a new day. Every day is a new day that you can change your outlook on life, change the way you respond to situations, and change for the better. However, the new year will bring new trials, new lessons, and new experiences. Though I’m young and there are wiser adults, I just wanna go 4 things  as we enter this new year:

1. Use your mistakes as lessons.

Nobody is perfect, don’t try to fool yourself into thinking that you won’t ever make mistakes. Making mistakes isn’t always a bad thing. (No I’m not saying go and make mistakes on purpose.) The mistakes that you will make, turn them into lessons. Remember the way your mistake made you feel. Prepare yourself better next time. Don’t beat yourself up for making mistakes, don’t feel like you’re the worst person. Grow from them. God doesn’t look down on you. I, personally, have felt like I was going against God, that I was taking advantage of God. But I learned the hard way that you are still a child of God. You are still loved. You are forgiven. Repent and the Lord will make your heart pure again. Let your mistakes turn into lessons, and continue to grow.

“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” // 2 Corinthians 12:9

2. Remember that God is still in control.

Life isn’t all butterflies and rainbows, life can get really hard at time. I’m gonna talk reality. Trusting God is way easier said than done. We know that God is control but when things happen, we start to lose sight of it. We will face trials and tribulations in each day we face, it just depends on how you handle them. God will never leave you, ever. So whatever you face this year, get on your knees and give it to God. Please, please remember that God knows what He is doing. I know life gets hard, I know things happen that we may not understand, I know life takes unexpected turns. But we know who sits on the throne. Yesterday, today, and every day after. Give your worries, your fear, your feelings, all of you, to God. God is good, man. All the time. And because He is good, He knows what is best for you.  Trust Him. Have faith.

“The Lord is my light and my salvation; I will fear no one. The Lord protects me from all danger; I will never be afraid.”// Pslam 27:1

3. Count each day as a blessing.

Mondays, ugh what a drag. Mondays are always the worst, the weekend is over and you have a week in front of you before another weekend. And the worst part is, the week drags on!!! However, the best part is, we are still alive. Everyday we wake up is a blessing from the Lord. Though we may not think about it when we first wake up, He is the reason we did. The Lord thought the world needed you another day, He knows your job on earth is not done yet, He knows that this day will be another day in your book. Thank Him every morning you wake up, because every day is not guaranteed. Live that day for the Lord, serve Him, spread His love! Live for God, live for Him!

“This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Pslam 118:24

4. Remember that Jesus loves you and died for YOU on the cross.

I don’t know about you, but I get full of joy, I get overwhelmed, and I get the chills when I think about how much Jesus loves me. How He sacrificed is whole being for us is such a beautiful thing. No matter what this world tells you, how they judge you, or what their feelings are towards you, remember that you are worthy, you are loved, and you are cherished enough to have someone die for you. You are a child of God, you are so special. Live everyday knowing that you are ENOUGH. You are loved more than you will ever know by someone who died to know you.

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” //Romans 5:8

I can only hope and pray that 2017 will be full of lessons, blessings, and growing. Take life one day at a time, enjoy it, and soak it up. Because everyday is a blessing. Live each moment for God, rest in His rest, and love others the way He loves us.

Happy New Year to you all.

It is never about Jesus if it’s always about us.

I pray that The Lord may speak to you through me, I can only hope I can help you in your relationship with Christ.
