Tonight is the first night of summer and I’m sitting in bed with my best friend as we read Ephesians and write on my blog…………..probably a summer night I will definitely remember. Anyhow,
“In addition to all of this, take up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all of the flaming arrows of the evil one.” Ephesians 6:16
Satan will try and throw his flaming arrows at you. As a follower of Christ, you will need to stand firm in your faith and allow God to be the armor of your life. Most people may lean on their own understandings and strength rather than trusting that God has your troubles under control.
People may think that they have thick skin and that they can live without Gods help. Your skin is only so thick until you see yourself and already have ten arrows in your shoulder from Satan. He will pick you apart and dig under your skin to make you so consumed of worldly things and have you drift away from the One who wants all of you. If you have the armor of God, you will be protected from Satan by love, grace, and mercy.
“Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” Ephesians 6:13
Our struggles that we face are from this dark world, not our flesh and blood. With the helmet of God, you will have a helmet of Salvation. You won’t have those sinful thoughts that will control your actions. Instead, you will have the protection to know what is right and what is wrong, in the eyes of The Lord. Take the sword, which is the Word of God, and allow others feel the power of it. Gods Word is the only defensive weapon in the armor of God.
Having the armor of God will protect us from not only Satan, but those who are around us. From those people who are bad influences or may hurt you, remember that God has your body in His hands. Our God is so faithful and won’t let any of His children fall alone. Though we may not see His armor, we can feel the protection that we receive.
I could go on forever about what each part of Gods armor does for us. His love is so strong for us, that He is our protector against all evil. Even though at the end of the day we may feel like we can get through life ourselves, it’s a lot more harder and painful. As humans, we will always slip and fall, but our Father will pull out those arrows and stitch us up, only if we allow Him to.
I stared this blog in about January of 2016 to share His Word in a creative way. I was praying one night, and it kind of just came onto my heart.
I pray that The Lord may speak to you through me, I can only hope I can help you in your relationship with Christ.
