Freshman year was the year I couldn’t wait for. Meeting new people, starting the best four years of my life, new teachers, a new environment. I tried to fit in so hard to feel good about myself. I had a “clique” that was popular so I thought I was going to become popular, and boy was I excited! We all cheered together, went to different sport games together, we spent our freshman year together! But who would’ve guessed? –It fell apart. So that “fitting in”, didn’t get me to fit in so much..
Sophomore year was a second chance for me. I had a second year to find a different friend group and to discover more about high school! Well I found people..tons of people.. After being EXCEPTED. [Not included in the category or group]. I was excepted because of my faith, because I didn’t party, because I didn’t go around fooling around.. Once again, trying to “fit in”, didn’t last a hot minute.
Now I’m in junior year….All I can say is Thank You Jesus! I’m more than half way there. I’m not done high school yet, and I have learned so much about self-confidence, happiness, loving others even when they don’t deserve it, and most importantly Jesus Christ. I went from EXCEPTED from a group of teenagers, to ACCEPTED [Generally believed or recognized to be valid] by Christ, and by ACCEPTING Him.
Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.// Romans 15:7
Being a firm believer in Jesus Christ is not going to make you popular. In fact, you may feel less and less worthy in this life because of the one that’s next. When you give your life to Him, you open up a new way of thinking, a new way of seeing, and a new way of living. However, it also is opening you to unconditional love and a new acceptance. The people you are trying to be accepted by is a very difficult step. In fact, it can either break you or can bring you closer to Christ. Not everyone you encounter will love, support, or care for you.
Lets take a moment and think about something..
— Accepting God and being accepted by Him and into heaven…
— Living to impress others, and trying to fit in to be popular…
You shouldn’t even need a moment to think!
I’m not talking about friendships or cliques. I’m talking about you changing your actions and personality to be accepted by those around you. You shouldn’t need to replace your real self for someone who is only trying to get accepted because let me tell you.. The only person you should be worried about being accepted by is Jesus Christ and you accepting Him.
I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.// Pslam 139:14
Being excepted by those around you, doesn’t mean you’re not accepted by OUR LORD AND SAVIOR. Being excepted by those around you, doesn’t mean you can’t accept OUR LORD AND SAVIOR.
God made you unique and beautifully. You are your own person with your own heart. Don’t allow this world to transform you, instead, allow the Light of Jesus transform the world. We are all guilty of allowing this world to transform us in some way. “I learned the hard way that I cannot always count on others to respect my feelings, even if i respect theirs. Being a good person doesn’t guarantee that others will be good people too. You only have control over yourself to be as a person. As for others, you can only choose to accept them or walk away.” As Christians, we are called to accept others. We are to love those who don’t deserve our love, forgive those who don’t deserve our forgiveness, and we are to accept those who are different because after all, God has accepted us all even though we are all different. Maybe now’s your time to accept Him.
God has accepted us. Have you accepted Him? Accepting Him as your Lord and Savior will change your heart, mind, and life.
Accepting Jesus Christ may take time and be hard to fathom at first, but God knows you. He knows your heart, and your ways.
Accepted by God > Ac/Excepted by this world…
Are you not allowing yourself to accept God because you will be excepted by society?
Instead of allowing yourself to be excepted from others, allow yourself to be accepted by Jesus Christ.
It is never about Jesus if it’s always about us.
I pray that The Lord may speak to you through me, I can only hope I can help you in your relationship with Christ.
